iRise 11.7 introduces new, native field types to the project schema. Using the new field types allow you to better manage, sort, filter, and organize your cards and their relationships in Manager.
You can start using the updated 11.7 project schema right away when creating a new project from one of the 11.7 Project Templates, as shown below:
To leverage the new field types in existing projects, complete the following:
Review / Update Project Schema
Open your existing project in Manager.
Click the gear icon and select Edit requirement attributes…
Click Type under the Category: Native Attributes.
Review the options available under Type.
If no additional options are necessary, click Close.
If additional option(s) are required, click Edit and + Add Option to add any additional card type values (e.g. Test Case, Issue, etc.) Then, click Save to update the schema and click Done to close the Requirement Attributes window.
Map Existing Content to New Native Fields
The custom type field and custom related requirement field(s) will need to be mapped to the new native Type and Related Cards fields.
For each [Category].Type option in your project (for the default project schema, this is Details.Type):
Details.Type:
Create custom filter set to view requirements of the custom Type field for each option value (e.g. User Story, Requirement, etc.)
For each card, set the new native Type field to the option value. That is set, the native Type field value to be equal to the value in the old type field.
For each custom attribute of type: Requirement (for the default schema, this is Related requirements and Related issues):
Related requirements:
Create custom filter to find all cards where Related requirements is not empty.
Click a card access the Related tab.
Review the Related requirements and note the Related requirements IDs for the card.
Click the Detail tab for the card.
Click + to add the related requirement IDs to the Cards in this Epic section or Related Cards section.
Related issues:
Create custom filter to find all cards where Related issues is not empty.
Review the Related tab and Related issues and note the Related requirements IDs for the card.
Click the Detail tab.
Click + to add the related requirement IDs to the Related Cards section.
Clean Up Project Schema
Click the gear icon and select Edit requirement attributes…
Delete [Category].Type and all custom fields of Type: Requirement (for the default project schema, this is Details.Type, Related requirements, and Related issues)
Click Save to update the schema and click Done to close the Requirement Attributes window.
Congratulations, you are ready to leverage the 11.7 updates on your existing project!
