In this video series, we’ll cover how to get your Tasktop Integration Hub (TIH) server up and running and then walk through the quick start process of creating an integration between a sample iRise project and a new Azure DevOps project.
At the end of the series, you will have a basic integration running between iRise and Azure DevOps for a sample project.
Quick Start Video - Introduction
Here's we'll give you an overview of the process and overview and Tasktop Integration Hub (TIH) download, installation, and setup.
First thing you'll do is setup the Tasktop integration hub. This hub handles the integration, and it's where you'll configure how the integration will work - (it sits between the two tools). You'll need to download and install it.
Next you need to setup an account in each of the tools (here iRise and Azure Devops). Tasktop hub will use those accounts to access each tool.
Quick Start Video #1: Repositories
A repository is just the name Tasktop uses for the tools you'll be integrating. So iRise and Azure Devops and Jira are all repositories.
You'll also hear the term "Artifact" being used - that's a catch-all phrase for issues, user stories, requirements, etc... (all the data your tool is capturing).
Quick Start Video #2: Create a Model
A model is the set of attributes that you want to include in the integration - so in this example here, for this integration I'm going to want to sync the Summary field, the description, location and priority... so I need to add those to this model.
Quick Start Video #3: Create a Collection and Map to the Model
Collections are a set of fields that can be useused during the integration for one of the tools. You're going to create two collections - one for each tool, so you'll create one for iRise and one for Azure Devops.
Then you're going to map the collections you've created to the model.
Quick Start Video #4: Configure the Integration
Now that we've created the model and mapped it out, we'll pick the tools we want to integrate and the project within them. Once that's done we'll turn on the integration!
